WebMallory’s PTAH stain. Phosphotungstic acid–hematoxylin: Dissolve 1 g of hematoxylin and 20 g of phosphotungstic acid in a suitable volume of water, separately. Use gentle heat to dissolve the hematoxylin. Mix both solutions when cool and add distilled water to 1000 ml. WebMartius yellow, together with phosphotungstic acid in alcoholic solution (HK014)stains red cells. Early fibrin deposits may be stainied, but the phospho-(HK005), stains muscle and mature fibrin.
